Robert was born in Sinton, Selkirk, Scotland. Robert's father was Thomas Erskine and his mother was Janet Keith. His paternal grandparents were Robert Erskine and Beatrice Lindsay; his maternal grandfather is Edward Keith of Synton and his maternal grandmother was Christian Menteith. He was an only child. He died on November 6th, 1452.-
