Amasa Owen was born on September 8th, 1861 in Utica , La Salle County, Illinois. Amasa Owen's father was Asa Crosiar and his mother was Louisa Holland. His paternal grandparents were Simon Crosiar and Sarah H. Owen; his maternal grandparents were Nathaniel Holland and Eunice Owen. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Earle, John, Simon, William, Nellie Fae, Selma, Eva, Hattie, Lottie and Lillie. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Frank, Fred, Mary, Hattie, Gladys and Lillie. He died at the age of 62 on January 7th, 1924 in Utica, La Salle County, Illinois.
