David Ankney 
David was born in 1774 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. David's father was Christian Ankney and his mother was Elizabeth Shaffer. His paternal grandparents were Dewalt Johan Ankney and Mary Jane Dorner; his maternal grandparents were George Schaffer and Elisabetha Catherine Miller. He had four brothers and four sisters, named George, Henry, Christian Jr., Jacob, Elizabeth, Rosanna, Anna Marie and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 31 on October 10th, 1805 in Milford Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.-
