Christian Jr. was born on May 13th, 1782 in Cook Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Christian Jr.'s father was Christian Ankney and his mother was Elizabeth Shaffer. His paternal grandparents were Dewalt Johan Ankney and Mary Jane Dorner; his maternal grandparents were George Schaffer and Elisabetha Catherine Miller. He had four brothers and four sisters, named George, David, Henry, Jacob, Elizabeth, Rosanna, Anna Marie and Margaret. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 82 on June 1st, 1864 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Ligonier Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.General Notes
