Rhoda was born on April 28th, 1827 in Canandaigua, Ontario Co., New York.  Rhoda's father was Alpheus Gifford and her mother was Anna Nash.  Her paternal grandparents were Noah Gifford and Mary Bowerman; her maternal grandparents were Azor Nash and Lucy Shaw. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Icabod Bowerman, Samuel Kendall, William Pitts, Henry Dill, Moses, Enos Curtis, Herber Chase Kimball, Mary Elizabeth and Rachel.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 77 on November 2nd, 1904 in Mapleton, Utah Co., Utah.

‌Rhoda and Alvin were married in a religious ceremony in February 1846.  They had four sons and a daughter, named Alpheus, Henry Allen, Henry Allen, William Alvin and Rhoda Ann.


Rhoda's second family with John Albert Smith

‌Rhoda and John Albert were married in a religious ceremony on October 17th, 1856 in Manti, Sanpete Co., Utha.  They had a son and two daughters, named Albert, Deborah Wing and Anna Nash.


Rhoda's third family with William Knapp Parshall

‌Rhoda and William Knapp were married in a religious ceremony in 1866 in Springdale, Washington Co., Utah.  They had a son named William Kendall.


Rhoda's fourth family with John Hatfield

‌Rhoda and John were married in a religious ceremony on July 24th, 1870 in Springdale, Washington Co., Utah.  They had a daughter named Eliza Angeline.


Rhoda's fifth family with George Lyman

‌Rhoda and George were married in a religious ceremony in Winter Quarters, Carbon Co., Utah.  They had a daughter named Sarah Elizabeth.
