William D. Gatten

William D. was born in 1889 in Wood Co., West Virginia. William D.'s father was Thomas Jefferson Gatten and his mother was Emma Viola Kaughfman. His paternal grandfather was Dennis Gatten and his paternal grandmother is Elizabeth Piatt. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Bert T., Brady J., George Dewey, Chummy, Cleora and Leona. He is the oldest of the seven children.
