Alvin Jonathan was born on November 17th, 1887 in Custer Co., Nebraska. Alvin Jonathan's father was George William Coen and his mother was Lucinda Lee Kelly. His paternal grandparents were Jonathan Morris Coen and Millicent Bailey. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Robert Jesse, Roy Marvin, Albert, Lena May, Bertha Dorothy and Mary Minnie. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 90 on January 12th, 1978 in Marshalltown, Marshall Co., Iowa.-
