Osborn was born in September 1843 in Independence, Grayson Co., Virginia. Osborn's father was Thomas Anders and his mother was Sarah Richardson. His paternal grandparents are Starling Anders and Miss Anders. He had six brothers and five sisters, named James Jasper, Newton, Floyd, Henry, Abraham, Elbert, Celia, Patsy, Elizabeth, Mary Polly and Peggy. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 77 in 1920 in Independence, Grayson Co., Virginia.-
