Joan "of Acre" was born in 1272 in Akko, Hazafon, Palestine.1   Joan "of Acre"'s father was Edward I "Longshanks" Plantagenet and her mother was Eleanor Of CASTILE AND LbEON.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Plantagenet and Elbeonore (Lbeonor) Berenger; her maternal grandparents were Fernando III "The Saint" King Of CASTILE AND LbEON and Jeanne De DAMMARTIN. She had four brothers and ten sisters, named John, Henry, Alphonso, Edward II, Eleanor, Joan, Juliana Katherine, Margaret, Berengaria, Mary, Alice, Elizabeth, Beatrice and Blanche.  She was the sixth oldest of the fifteen children. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas 'Of Brotherton', Edmund 'Of Kent', John De and Eleanor.  She died at the age of 35 on April 23rd, 1307 in , Clare, Suffolk, England.  She was buried on April 26th, 1307 in Austin Friars' Church, Clare, Suffolk, England.2

‌Joan "of Acre" and Gilbert 'The Red Earl' were married in a religious ceremony on April 30th, 1290 in Westminister Abbey, Westminster, Middlesex, England.2   They had a son and three daughters, named Gilbert de, Eleanore, Margaret and Elizabeth de.
