Joan Alice was born about 1174. Joan Alice's father was William III De Braose and her mother was Maud Matilda De Saint Valery. Her paternal grandparents were William II De Braose and Bertha de Gloucester; her maternal grandparents were Bernald IV De Saint Valery and Matilda.
