William Gentry 
William was born in 1755 in Lunenburg County,Virginia. William's father was Joseph Gentry and his mother was Agnes Shelton. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Gentry and Ann Allen; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Shelton and Lucy Austin. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Samuel, Shelton, Elizabeth, Agnes, Nancy Anne, Judith, Sarah and Susannah. He was the second oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 17 in 1772 in Surry County,North Carolina.-
