Shelton Gentry 
Shelton was born in 1757 in Lunenburg County Virginia. Shelton's father was Joseph Gentry and his mother was Agnes Shelton. His paternal grandparents were Samuel Gentry and Ann Allen; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Shelton and Lucy Austin. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Samuel, William, Elizabeth, Agnes, Nancy Anne, Judith, Sarah and Susannah. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died at the age of 77 in 1834 in Surry County,North Carolina.-
