Samuel Davis was born on April 2nd, 1831 in ,Jessamine County,KY.1 Samuel Davis' father was Archibald Young and his mother was Martha Glover Young. His paternal grandparents were John Young and Cynthia McCullough; his maternal grandfather was Minor Young. He had six brothers and a sister, named John, Brown, Minor, Archibald Logan, Thomas Raymond, Robert and Jessamine. He was the third youngest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Matthew Henry and Martha Foster. He died at the age of 72 on October 24th, 1903 in Nicholasville,Nicholas County,KY. He was buried in John Chambers Farm,Nicholas County,KY.-
