Jessamine was born on January 25th, 1825 in Nicholasville,Nicholas County,KY.1 Jessamine's father was Archibald Young and her mother was Martha Glover Young. Her paternal grandparents were John Young and Cynthia McCullough; her maternal grandfather was Minor Young. She had seven brothers named John, Brown, Minor, Archibald Logan, Samuel Davis, Thomas Raymond and Robert. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Matthew Henry and Martha Foster. She died at the age of 80 on January 1st, 1906 in Independence,,MO.-
