Minor was born in 1823 in Nicholasville,Nicholas County,KY.1 Minor's father was Archibald Young and his mother was Martha Glover Young. His paternal grandparents were John Young and Cynthia McCullough; his maternal grandfather was Minor Young. He had six brothers and a sister, named John, Brown, Archibald Logan, Samuel Davis, Thomas Raymond, Robert and Jessamine. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Matthew Henry and Martha Foster. He died at the age of 4 in 1827 in Nicholasville,Nicholas County,KY.-
