Austin was born on September 14th, 1868 in Greensburg,Decatur,IN. Austin's father was John Frank TOOTHMAN and his mother was Rosannah Louisa Evans. His paternal grandparents were Phillip TOOTHMAN and Elizabeth MYERS; his maternal grandparents were Enoch Evans and Catherine Michael. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Charles Monroe, William Vernon, Nancy Ann, Allie Mae, Mary Etta and Sarah Ellen. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 72 on August 27th, 1941 in IL.-
