Tabitha was born about 1780. Tabitha's father was William Morris and her mother was Sarah Godfrey. Her paternal grandparents were William Morris and Isabella Gibson Howe; her maternal grandparents were Matthew Godfrey and Sarah Valentine. She had four brothers and a sister, named William Godfrey, James, Fredrick, Jonathan and Sarah. She was the oldest of the six children.-
