Elvira Layton MORTIMER

Elvira Layton was born on July 22nd, 1832 in KY.  Elvira Layton's father was Famous MORTIMER and her mother was Mary BLUE.  Her paternal grandparents were Arthur Mortimer and UNKNOWN Sarah. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Emanuel, Famous, Nimrod Farrow, Marquis DeLafayette (Lafe), Frances (Fanny), Mary and Dorothy (Dolly).  She was the second youngest of the eight children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William, Bonaparte, David Meranda, Benjamin Sabastian, Sarah, Julianna and Kittura (Catherine).  She died at the age of 75 on August 22nd, 1907 in Montgomery,IN.

‌Elvira Layton and William Allen were married in a religious ceremony in 1854.
