Her paternal grandparents were James T Hess and Sarah Ann Hite; her maternal grandparents were James M. Young and Margaret Lemmon. She had five brothers and five sisters, named James Carey Bug, Almo Thompson, William, Gail, Glenn, Lulu, Ora Ann, Grace, Estella H and Verna. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 88 in August 1971 in Fullerton,Orange,CA.-
