Her paternal grandparents were James T Hess and Sarah Ann Hite; her maternal grandparents were James M. Young and Margaret Lemmon. She had five brothers and five sisters, named James Carey Bug, Almo Thompson, William, Gail, Glenn, Lulu, Ora Ann, Merle, Grace and Verna. She was the second youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 72 on March 6th, 1965 in Ames,IA.-
