John C Ames 
John C was born on May 28th, 1828 in Washington Co,Pennsylvania. John C's father was Nehemia Ames and his mother was Frances Craven. His paternal grandparents were Jabez Ames and Elizabeth Smith; his maternal grandparents were James C Craven and Hannah Leonard. He had six brothers and four sisters, named James, William, Leonard, Theophilus, Nehemia Jr, Henry, Mary, Eliza, Hannah and Julia Ann. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 84 on July 2nd, 1912 in Hicksville,Defiance Co,Ohio.General Notes
