Samuel Pinkerton Zike 
Samuel Pinkerton was born in 1844 in Kentucky. Samuel Pinkerton's father was William Allen Zike and his mother was Lydia Goforth. His paternal grandparents were Jacob "Zeuch" Zike and Katherine Lucinda Avey; his maternal grandfather was Thomas Goforth. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, James Thomas, Alexander, George W., Francis M., Casandra and Nancy J.. He was the second youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 77 in 1921. He was buried in Edison Cemetery, Edison, Furnas, Nebraska.General Notes
Samuel served in the Civil War, G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic), Co.
D, 44 Iowa Infantry, until 1866.
He lived in Hudson County and in Edison, Nebraska.
