Needra Artenus was born on July 11th, 1911 in Lawrence Co., Indiana. Needra Artenus' father was William Marshall Southern and her mother was Flora Deckard. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Southern and Nancy Deckard; her maternal grandparents were Napoleon Budd Deckard and Elizabeth Mize. She had two brothers and a sister, named Ormaul, Homer O. and Freeda Helen. She was the second oldest of the four children. She died at the age of 34 on October 21st, 1945 in Monroe Co., Indiana. She was buried in Clear Creek Cemetery, Monroe Co., Indiana.-
