Andrew came to the U.S. at the age of 15 with his mother Gertrude and his brothers Anton and Julius. They arrived August 28, 1889 on the ship Lahn from Bremen and SouthHampton to New York. During the 1900 census, Andrew lived with his mother Gertrude and brother Julius. They lived at 1266 East St. in Indianapolis. Andrew was a US citizen at that time and was 24 years old. Andrew made his living as a butcher. He married Sophia Knaerzer in 1900. They had 3 children. Andrew was a member of Sacred Heart Parrish. He died at the age of 36 with typhoid. The funeral service was performed by Lauck Funeral Home and his burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery. Andrew and his wife Sophia and 3 children lived at 801 Cottage St. in Indianapolis at the time of his death.
