Oliver B. was born on February 8th, 1838 in Milledgeville,Carroll Co.,Illinois. Oliver B.'s father was Dr. Stephen DODD and his mother was Phebe Babbit. His paternal grandparents were Parmenas Dod and Patience Wright; his maternal grandparents were Stephen Babbitt and Mary Beach. He had nine brothers and six sisters, named Amzi, Elias Babbitt, Josephus, George B, Edward Y, Stephen, Isaac Newton, Jesse Roe, John Milton, Sarah, Emeline, Angeline, Phebe, Jemima and Julia Ann. He was the youngest of the sixteen children. He had two half-sisters named Lydia and Mary Anne. He died at the age of 77 on December 17th, 1915 in Waucoma,Fayette Co.,Iowa.
