Stephen Babbitt 
Stephen was born on September 14th, 1764 in Mendham,Morris Co.,New Jersey. Stephen's father was Seth Babbitt and his mother was Jemima Lindsley. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Luther, Darius, Amzi, Phoebe and Millicent. He was the oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 39 in 1803 in Mendham,Morris Co.,New Jersey.1 General Notes
Stephen Babbitt was born September 14, 1764. A private in the Revolutionary War from Morris County, New Jersey, Stephen was prosperous and thrifty and left a large estate. He died in 1803 after which his widow, Mary Beach Babbitt, settled in Knox County, Ohio. She died February 23, 1842. Their children, whose names follow, also all moved to Ohio except Elias and Moses.
‌Stephen and Mary were married in a religious ceremony about 1787 in Mendham,Morris Co.,New Jersey.1 They had three sons and four daughters, named Elias, Aaron, Moses, Jemima, Phebe, Tryphena and Joanna.

Phebe was born on December 19th, 1791 in Mendham,Morris Co.,New Jersey. She died at the age of 55 on October 3rd, 1847 in Milledgeville,Carroll Co.,Illinois. She was buried in Milledgeville,Carroll Co.,Illinois.1 1
Moses Babbitt
Moses was born in 1801 in Mendham,Morris Co.,New Jersey. He died at the age of 85 in 1886.1
