William II Marshal 
William II was born in May 1198 in Of, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.1 William II's father was William FITZGILBERT and his mother was Isabel Fitzgilbert de CLARE. His paternal grandparents were John FITZGILBERT and Sibilla (Sibyl) de SALISBURY; his maternal grandparents were Richard Fitzgilbert de CLARE and Aoife Eva MacDermot MCMURROUGH. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Gilbert, Richard, Walter, Anselm, Margaret, Maud (Matilda), Isabel, Joane, Sibyl and Eve (Eva). He was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 23 on April 11th, 1222 in Sp. He was buried on April 15th, 1231 in Temple Church, London, Middlesex, England.1 1 General Notes
