Anselm Marshal 
Anselm was born in 1202 in Of, Pembroke, Pembrokeshire, Wales.1 Anselm's father was William FITZGILBERT and his mother was Isabel Fitzgilbert de CLARE. His paternal grandparents were John FITZGILBERT and Sibilla (Sibyl) de SALISBURY; his maternal grandparents were Richard Fitzgilbert de CLARE and Aoife Eva MacDermot MCMURROUGH. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Gilbert, Richard, Walter, William II, Margaret, Maud (Matilda), Isabel, Joane, Sibyl and Eve (Eva). He was the third youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 43 on December 22nd, 1245 in ,Chepstow. He was buried on December 24th, 1245 in ,Tinton Abbey.1 1 General Notes
