Catherine Amanda was born on February 5th, 1851 in Lancaster Co., PA. Catherine Amanda's father was William Mathias III Slaymaker and her mother was Mary Catharine Eckert. Her paternal grandparents were William Mathias, Jr. Slaymaker and Elizabeth Ellmaker. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named Peter Eckert, William Mathias IV, George C. Eckert, Lucy Eckert, Elizabeth E., Jane Kinzer, Caroline Augusta, Mary Ellen, Laura Georgia, Edith Iola and Margaret. She was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 30 on October 3rd, 1881.General Notes
