Nancy Dowell

Nancy was born in 1797 in Bedford Co., Virginia.¹ Nancy's father was Elijah Dowell and her mother was Jemima Board. Her paternal grandparents were George Dowell and Margaret Ferguson. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Nehemiah, George, James, John, Elijah, Joel, Harrison, Dandridge, Elizabeth, Jincey and Polly. She was the sixth oldest of the twelve children.
