Elijah Dowell

Elijah was born on June 12th, 1800 in Bedford Co., Virginia.¹ Elijah's father was Elijah Dowell and his mother was Jemima Board. His paternal grandparents were George Dowell and Margaret Ferguson. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Nehemiah, George, James, John, Joel, Harrison, Dandridge, Elizabeth, Nancy, Jincey and Polly. He was the seventh oldest of the twelve children.
