Elizabeth Dowell

Elizabeth was born in 1795 in Bedford Co., Virginia.¹ Elizabeth's father was Elijah Dowell and her mother was Jemima Board. Her paternal grandparents were George Dowell and Margaret Ferguson. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Nehemiah, George, James, John, Elijah, Joel, Harrison, Dandridge, Nancy, Jincey and Polly. She was the fifth oldest of the twelve children.
