Job was born in 1847 and his baptism took place on June 20th, 1847 in Wisborough Green, Sussex.1  Job's father was Job Steer and his mother was Sarah Harwood.  His paternal grandparents were Henry Steer and Lydia Etherton. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Edmund, George, Mark, Eli, Mary, Alice and Matilda.  He was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
