James Steer

James was born in 1822 and his baptism took place on January 17th, 1822 in Pulborough.¹   James' father was James Steer and his mother was Ursula Steyning.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Steare and Mary Hawkins. He had eight brothers named William, Thomas, George, Charles, David, Harry, David and Edward.  He was the oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 30 in 1852.  He was buried on March 23rd, 1852 in Pulborough.²
