Agnes was born about 1881 in Elsecar Yorkshire.1   Agnes' father was William STEER and her mother was Harriet STEER. She had eight brothers and two sisters, named John, Fred, Elick, Josuah, Colin, Birket, George, Frank, Adelaide and Harriet.  She was the youngest of the eleven children.
