George was born on March 19th, 1915. George's father was Peter John Thomas Ogier (Oshyer) and his mother was Janet Elizabeth McAllister.  His paternal grandparents were Peter James Ogier and Mary (Maria) Avison; his maternal grandparents were William McAllister and Isabella Cairns Bell. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Jimmy, Bill, Walter, Isabella-(Bellie) and Gwendoline.  He was the third oldest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and five half-sisters, named William, Peter, David, Tom, Mary, Florence, Edith, Hannah and Beatie.  He died at the age of 72 on September 2nd, 1987.  He was buried on September 7th, 1987 in Charters Towers Cemetery, Qld.1 1
