Russell, known as Bill, was born on April 26th, 1919 in South Street, Charters Towers, Qld delivered by Nurse Tucker.1  Bill's father was Peter John Thomas Ogier (Oshyer) and his mother was Janet Elizabeth McAllister.  His paternal grandparents were Peter James Ogier and Mary (Maria) Avison; his maternal grandparents were William McAllister and Isabella Cairns Bell. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Jimmy, George, Walter, Isabella-(Bellie) and Gwendoline.  He was the second youngest of the six children. He had four half-brothers and five half-sisters, named William, Peter, David, Tom, Mary, Florence, Edith, Hannah and Beatie.  He died due to a medical problem, Pneumonia and Metastatic malignant melanoma, at the age of 76 on October 20th, 1995 in Charters Towers Hospital, Qld.  The funeral took place in Charters Towers, Qld.  He was buried on October 23rd, 1995 in Charters Towers Cemetery, Qld.2 3
