In 1861, Maria Barrow (18) was visiting John and Ellen Bell family from Yorkshire, living at Egerton where Eliza Mather was boarding. 1844 - 1866 Maria Barrow 22 22 Born: Little Bolton, Lancashire

In 1851, Maria was living in Little Bolton with mother and grandparents.

By 1861 she was with mother Happy and Phineas Shuttleworth, her new stepfather.  There is Maria Barrow (18) also visiting John and Ellen Bell in 1861, with Eliza Mather (Isaac and Mary's daughter) present.  It seems she was recorded twice as only a visiter, visiting her cousin Eliza.  There isn't another Maria Barrow born Bolton of this age!

In 1863, Maria Barrow married William Collins at Bolton Le Moors, Holy Trinity (BMD ref 21/2/85).
1837 - 1894 Eliza Mather 56 56 Eliza Mather was born and lived her whole life in the Waterloo area of Little Bolton, Lancashire.

Recorded as only child of Isaac and Mary on 1841 census return, living with parents at Kay Street, Little Bolton.  Note she is "Eliza" (i.e. NOT Elizabeth, the daughter of Isaac Mather, a farmer from Entwistle who married James Duckworth 2-Sep-1860)

In 1851, Eliza is living at 1 Simpson Street, Little Bolton, Lancashire.

In 1861, Eliza had already left home, but not with James Pendlebury (who was still married then). In 1861 she was aged 22, boarding with John and Ellen Bell in Egerton, Turton.

14 Aug 1863, Eliza Mather (Full), spinster of Little Bolton, daughter of Isaac Mather a weaver married James Pendlebury (Full), shopkeeper and widower of Little Bolton, son of William Pendlebury, a twister. Witnesses were Thomas Pearson; Margaret Ridyard.

In 1891, John and Israel were still with their mother, Eliza.

In 1891, borther Samuel Mather (a cotton mill operative) was visiting.

in 1861, 1863, and 1871 he was a Brewer and Shopkeeper, so probably did quite well for himself.
1824 - 1862 Hannah Yates 38 38 Hannah YATES or MONKS ?

BMD records the MMN as Yates for all three children.  However, GRO has the MMN as MONKS for Mary Ann and Henry and no record for James.  Therefore, Hannah may heve been a widow when she married James in 1853.
