Joseph's father was William Woodworth (Woodward) and his mother was Eleanor (Ellen) Day.  His paternal grandparents were Joseph Woodworth and Alice Dobb. He had three brothers and six sisters, named William, George, Joseph, Ellen, Ann, Ellen, Alice, Margaret and Jane.  He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 3 in February 1815 in Little Neston.  He was buried on February 28th, 1815 in Neston.¹
