Alice's father was William Woodworth (Woodward) and her mother was Eleanor (Ellen) Day.  Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Woodworth and Alice Dobb. She had four brothers and five sisters, named William, George, Joseph, Joseph, Ellen, Ann, Ellen, Margaret and Jane.  She was the third youngest of the ten children.
