Rosie's father was John William Walsh and her mother was Clara Winterbottom.  Her maternal grandparents were James Winterbottom and Elizabeth Ann Navin. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Jack, Frank, Clarence, Mary and Lilian.  She was the second oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 92 on April 9th, 2011 in Manchester.²
