Clarence's father was John William Walsh and his mother was Clara Winterbottom. His maternal grandparents were James Winterbottom and Elizabeth Ann Navin. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Jack, Frank, Mary, Rosie and Lilian. He was the fifth oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 65 on June 15th, 1992 in Manchester. His burial was in June 1992 in Chorlton-cum-Hardy.²³
