John was born in 1838 in Warrington.1  John's father was James Tomlinson and his mother was Mary Goller (or Geller).  His paternal grandparents were Richard Tomlinson and Alice Glover. He had four brothers and two sisters, named George, Francis, Albert, Peter, Mary? and Elizabeth.  He was the third oldest of the seven children.  He died before 1881 in Bolton.




John's family with Nancy Tabley

‌John and Nancy were married in a religious ceremony on October 17th, 1859 at St. Peter's (Bolton).4  They had three sons and two daughters, named Albert, William, Thomas, Mary and Jane.  There are no more children.
