Elizabeth was born in 1842 in Warrington.1  Elizabeth's father was James Tomlinson and her mother was Mary Goller (or Geller).  Her paternal grandparents were Richard Tomlinson and Alice Glover. She had five brothers and a sister, named George, John, Francis, Albert, Peter and Mary?.  She was the second youngest of the seven children.

‌Elizabeth and James were married in a religious ceremony on July 3rd, 1864 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2   The family line is yet to be completed.
