Elizabeth's father was James Tomlinson and her mother was Mary Goller (or Geller). Her paternal grandparents were Richard Tomlinson and Alice Glover. She had five brothers and a sister, named George, John, Francis, Albert, Peter and Mary?. She was the sixth oldest of the seven children.
