Joseph was born in June 1859 in Horwich and his baptism took place there on November 6th, 1859.¹

Birth Notes

Joseph's father was Robert Mather Taylor and his mother was Mary Ann Kay. His paternal grandparents were John Taylor and Mary Mather. He had six brothers named William, James, Bernard, David, Kay and Doctor. He was the third oldest of the seven children.
