Sarah (Sally) Stocks

Sarah, known as Sally, was born in 1769 at DeadManStone and her baptism took place on March 12th, 1769 in Almondbury.¹

  Another Sally Stocks was christened on 7-Mar-1769, father Joshia, but this Sally died after 23 days. At these times, Sally was an uncommon name, so probably Joseph and Joshua were brothers, naming their children the same!

Sally's father was Joseph Stocks and her mother was Elizabeth Perkin. Her paternal grandparents were David Stocks and Sarah Brook; her maternal grandparents were George Parkin and Susana (Hanah) Gleadhill . She had two brothers and a sister, and also four siblings of unknown gender, named George, Samuel, Susannah, <child>, <child>, <child> and <child>. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She had two half-sisters named Martha and Hanah.

General Notes
- Another Sally Stocks was christened on 7-Mar-1769, father Joshia, but this Sally died after 23 days. At these times, Sally was an uncommon name (although used as a nickname for Sarah), so probably Joseph and Joshua were brothers, naming their children the same!
