Emanuel's father was Emanuel Stocks and his mother was Susanna (Hannah) Wood.  His paternal grandparents were Joshua Stocks and Elizabeth Bingley. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Isaac, Peter, Joseph, Benjamin, Joseph, Ruth, Thomas, Michael, Mary, Susanah, Martha and Elizabeth.  He died on April 15th, 1773 in Kirkheaton.  He was buried on April 15th, 1773 in Kirkheaton.^2 2
