Janet was born in 1924 in Tyldesley.1  Janet's father was Robert Seddon and her mother was Catherine Jones.  Her paternal grandparents were George Seddon and Sarah Jane Seddon. She had a brother and two sisters, named George, Kathleen and Joyce.  She was the second youngest of the four children.
