George was born in September 1918 in Atherton.1  George's father was Robert Seddon and his mother was Catherine Jones.  His paternal grandparents were George Seddon and Sarah Jane Seddon. He had three sisters named Kathleen, Janet and Joyce.  He was the oldest of the four children.
