Baptised 25 Aug 1838, Ann was the Daughter of Betsy Greenhalgh of Haulgh, Spinster. Although living with Miles in 1841, Miles was not her father. Is is possibly Joseph Pollitt (1821-1840) who died in Stockport before the 1841 census.
Ann was married before to HOLT (see 1873 marriage) but recorded her maiden name as GREENHALGH for all 5 of her children (GRO index) and HOLT (Lanc-BMD index). It seems likely she was born before her father (Joseph POLLITT) married her mother.
19 July 1873, William Buckley (36) son of Jonathan Buckley, weaver, married Ann Holt (35), daughter of Joseph Pollitt, weaver, deceased at the Claremont (Baptist) Chapel, St George's Road, Bolton.
Ann and Thomas were married in a civil ceremony in December 1868 in Bolton.3
